Back to the 50s: A Week of Nostalgia and Fun in Grants Pass
The 33rd Annual Back to the 50s celebration is coming to Grants Pass, Oregon from July 18-23, 2023. This iconic event is a great way to travel back in time and experience the fashion, music, and culture of the 1950s.
The weeklong celebration features a variety of events, including:
- Classic car shows and cruise-ins
- Live music from 50s bands
- A sock hop
- A poker run
- A drive-in movie
- Sidewalk sales and restaurant specials
There’s something for everyone at Back to the 50s, so come on down to Grants Pass and join in the fun!
Here’s a more detailed look at some of the events:
- Classic car shows and cruise-ins: There are two main car shows during Back to the 50s, one on Friday, July 22nd and one on Saturday, July 23rd. Both shows will be held at the Josephine County Fairgrounds.
- Live music from 50s bands: There will be live music from 50s bands throughout the week, including The Chairman & the King (a tribute show with Roger Anderson as Elvis) on Tuesday, July 18th, and The Rockets on Friday, July 22nd.
- A sock hop: On Thursday, July 21st, there will be a sock hop at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. This is a great opportunity to dance the night away to 50s music.
- A poker run: On Friday, July 22nd, there will be a poker run. This is a fun way to see the sights of Grants Pass and Josephine County while playing poker.
- A drive-in movie: On Saturday, July 23rd, there will be a drive-in movie at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. The movie title has not yet been announced.
- Sidewalk sales and restaurant specials: Throughout the week, there will be sidewalk sales and restaurant specials in downtown Grants Pass. This is a great opportunity to do some shopping and enjoy a delicious meal.
